"Through painting I explore the colourful and hopeful nuances within life's routine."

Brief Kevin Ellis Bio

My creative life is rooted in the support of my art educator father and crafty mother who regularly had me drawing, painting, sculpting, weaving, potting and playing much music throughout my youth. I also attended art related courses at OCAD University and Wilfrid Laurier University while studying communications theory.

Facing the best and the worst during 30 years in marketing and corporate communications field informs my art practice. I do admit I have been caught sketching in boardroom meetings. Art really does help me think.  I've worked extensively in digital media, factual and scripted content projects, illustration and writing.  I've also studied violin making and am an active musician in vari. All this experience works its way into my current artistic efforts.

Today, my work is held by private collectors through direct purchase and commissions as well as a range commercial clients requiring creative counsel and content development. One of these projects was crafting a series of prop paintings for the award winning documentary Painted Land: In Search of the Group of Seven.  I hold membership in various arts associations.
